This Impact Inquiry is aimed at getting you to go beyond the ordinary and challenge existing mindsets and knowledge and to practice thinking the unthinkable.


 

Why do this?

  • To develop an ability to ask questions that stretch your boundaries and thinking;
  • To help you change the rules of the game. For example, why do we need to accept that so many government schools are failing our children, why just accept the status quo – how can we go in and change things; change the rules of engagement; change the future of our learners?

 

Throughout history many leaders have dared to ask these questions which have served to remove mental obstacles open their minds and help them charge into unchartered territory.

 

How do you make an Impact?

Dare to write down that “Crazy Thought or Idea”

e.g. 1.  What if all public schools offered a world class education to South African children?

e.g. 2.  What if poverty in South Africa was only something that was taught about in History Class?

 

Ask yourself “What if the impossible or very unlikely occurred?”

 

L-W-P                         

L:            List that Crazy Thought or Idea;

W:          Write down all your relevant questions that you feel you need to ask in order to challenge mental obstacles to help you realise your Crazy Idea.

P:           Propose a potential game plan or map on how to make your crazy idea a reality.
